In June 2010, the UK Government announced that all Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) in England would close by March 2012, including Advantage West Midlands.

Responsibility for economic development and regeneration in England passed to successor bodies, including central Government departments and newly-created Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).

Advantage West Midlands established a Closure and Transition Board, led by the Chief Executive, to plan and implement the controlled closure of the Agency. Staff were redeployed into new teams, to focus all available effort and resources on delivering closure objectives.

The "Closure and Transition Delivery Structure" is available from the Related Documents section, opposite.
